Artist Statement

Fragments & Echoes explores nostalgia, joy, and self-exploration by capturing overlooked spaces and ideas from old sketchbooks. Inspired by artists like Evan Hecox, Terry Urban, and David Choe, I blend emotional resonance with chaotic energy, transforming the mundane into vibrant, fragmented compositions that evoke memory and place.

My process starts by introducing chaos—excess paint, dirty water splashes, and imperfect marks—symbolizing the hidden, messy parts of our lives. I then apply fragmented compositions, sometimes revealing traces of the underpainting while other works conceal these layers, much like we hide parts of ourselves.

Incorporating personal artifacts like old magazines and mementos anchors the work in personal history. The fragmented layers of color, shape, and texture echo how we piece together memory and understanding.

This series marks a return to more personal, expressive works, shaped by my background in mural painting, illustration, and graphic design. I hope you find a connection in these pieces.

This collection is currently available for exhibition, either in full or in part. All works are for sale—unless otherwise specified.
